Outagamie County Pioneers

On February 22, 1872, the first
meeting of the Outagamie County Pioneer Association was held at the hall
of J.C. Smith in the city of Appleton.Daniel Huntley made a motion for the
adoption of the following resolution: “That a list of the names of all
heads of families in the meeting and of all such as are here, but have no
families, together with the year and month in which each one became an
actual resident of the territory now embraced in Outagamie County, and
also the post office address of each be taken, commencing immediately with
those now present and continuing as they come through the day, and that a
committee of three be appointed whose special duty it shall be to prepare
such a list.” (page 6)
It was so resolved and the chair
appointed Huntley, Carl Breiterick and L.L. Randall as the committee.
Spencer added remarks to the list at later date. Here is the list.
