Edmond Carlton

Edmond Carlton, brother to Ambrose and Rhoda Carlton, children of Philemon Carlton, was born about 1770 in Culpeper County, Virginia and died 1833 in Grant County, Kentucky. He married Sally Mourning July 18, 1795 in Caroline County, Virginia. She was born about 1775 in Maryland and died about 1836 in Gallatin County, Kentucky. They were the parents of the following children:

1. James Carlton was born about 1797 in Virginia and died between 1872-1874 in Owen County, Kentucky. He married Sabrey Stout on December 31, 1818 in Gallatin County, Kentucky She was born about 1794. They were the parents of Thompson, William and Virginia Carlton.

2. Thomas Carlton was born about 1801 in Virginia and died between 1872-1874. He married Susanna Smith in Gallatin County, Kentucky on September 23, 1819.

3. Pleasant Carlton was born August 25, 1802 in Culpeper County Virginia and died August 30, 1881 in Gallatin County, Kentucky. He married Mary Foster on April 1, 1824 in Gallatin County. She was born October 20, 1806 in Scott County, Kentucky and died October 10, 1886 in Gallatin County. They are buried in Ten Mile Baptist Church Cemetery in Gallatin County, Kentucky. 4. Mariah Carlton was born about 1805. No further information

5. Eliza Carlton was born about 1806 and married Thomas Foster October 16, 1827 in Grant County, Kentucky.

6. William Carlton was born about 1808. He married Massa Foster in 1843 in Gallatin County, Kentucky. This family moved to Illinois.

6. George Carlton was born about 1810 in Virginia and died August 12, 1896. He married Miranda Tull on September 19, 1832 in Grant County, Kentucky. Consent was given September 17, 1832 and signed by Andrew Tull. Relationship not given. Witnesses were Susannah Tull and Arrenda Tull.
