Pleasant Carlton

Pleasant Carlton was born August 25, 1802 in Culpeper County Virginia and died August 30, 1881 in Gallatin County, Kentucky. He married Mary "Polly" Foster on April 1, 1824 in Gallatin County, daughter of Thomas Foster. She was born October 20, 1806 probably in Scott County, Kentucky and died October 10, 1886 in Gallatin County, Kentucky. They are buried in Ten Mile Baptist Church Cemetery in Gallatin County, Kentucky. They were the parents of the following children:

1. James Elliston Carlton, born January 18, 1829 in Gallatin County, Kentucky, died April 27, 1910 in Kenton County Kentucky. He married Elizabeth Elliston on October 31, 1855 in Grant County, Kentucky.
2. George William Carlton was born 1832 in Gallatin County, Kentucky and died 1895 in Owen County, Kentucky. He married Malinda Bromley on November 8, 1851 in Owen County. She was born 1834 in Owen County and died 1915 in Owen County, Kentucky. They are buried in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Owen County, Kentucky.

(1) Robert Anderson Carlton was born December 20, 1852 in Owen County, Kentucky and died March 31, 1924 in Grant County, Kentucky. He married Maude Hunter Bennett on September 16, 1880 in Owen County, Kentucky, daughter of Alfonso Bennett and Sarah Osburn. She was born August 2, 1854 in Grant County, Kentucky and died April 11, 1933 in Grant County, Kentucky. They are buried in Vine Run Cemetery, Grant County, Kentucky. They were the parents of (a) Arch Thomas Carlton, born May 4, 1883 in Grant County, Kentucky and died January 13, 1937 in Kenton County, Kentucky. He married Martha Hambrick June 25, 1902 in Kenton County, Kentucky. They are buried in Highland Cemetery, Kenton County, Kentucky. (b) Fred Anderson Carlton, born October 6, 1884 in Grant County, Kentucky, died February 4, 1960 in Kenton County, Kentucky. He married Eva Mae Price  on May 12, 1908 in Grant County, Kentucky. He married Anna Cooper on February 9, 1938 in Kenton County, Kentucky. Fred and Anna are buried in Highland Cemetery in Kenton County, Kentucky. (c) Claude Lewis Carlton, born March 21, 1889 in Grant County, Kentucky, died June 26, 1952 in Gallatin County, Kentucky. He married Ethel Myra StewartJanuary 22, 1909 in Gallatin County, Kentucky. Claud is buried in Highland Cemetery in Kenton County, Kentucky. (d) Hallie Mae Carlton, born April 15, 1892 in Grant County Kentucky, died October 1908 in Grant County, Kentucky. She is buried in Vine Run Cemetery in Grant County, Kentucky, and (e) Sallie Violet Carlton, born March 30, 1896 in Grant County, Kentucky, died October 11, 1964 in Kenton County, Kentucky. She married William Kirtley Green November 2, 1916 in Kenton County, Kentucky, son of Edgar Green and Sarah Beach. He was born November 23, 1889 in Grant County, Kentucky and died September 9, 1974 in Kenton County, Kentucky. They are buried in Independence Cemetery, Kenton County, Kentucky.
(2) Mary E. Carlton was born 1854 in Owen County, Kentucky and died in Aurora, Indiana. She is buried in Riverside Cemetery in Aurora, Indiana. She married William Smith.
(3) James Orville Carlton was born 1856 in Owen County, Kentucky and married Harriet Gross. James is buried in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Owen County, Kentucky.
(4) William T. Carlton was born 1861 in Owen County, Kentucky and died in 1928. He is buried in Glencoe Cemetery in Gallatin County, Kentucky. He was single.
(5) John M. Carlton was born in 1862 in Owen County, Kentucky and died in Allenville, Indiana in 1939. He married Frankie Jane Bock April 26, 1892 in Owen County, Kentucky. They are buried in Switzerland County, Indiana.
(6) George L. Carlton was born in 1865 in Owen County Kentucky and died July 22, 1938 in Gallatin County, Kentucky. He married Eliza Hall. She was born in 1870 and died in 1963. They are buried in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Owen County, Kentucky.
(7) Charles R. Carlton was born in 1867 and died in 1946. He married Ella Brock on May 22, 1892 in Owen County, Kentucky. They are buried in Switzerland County, Indiana.
(8) Minnie Carlton was born in 1870 in Owen County, Kentucky and died about 1933 in Gallatin County, Kentucky. She is buried in Glencoe Cemetery in Gallatin County, Kentucky.

3. Mary "Polly" Carlton was born 1833 in Gallatin County, Kentucky and married January 15, 1851 in Gallatin County, Kentucky, James M. Foster.

4. Robert L. Carlton was born 1836 in Gallatin County, Kentucky. He married Jemima Skirvin in Gallatin County, Kentucky on December 10, 1874.

5. Massa Ann Carlton was born 1838 in Gallatin County, Kentucky. She married Thomas M. Ponder on January 30, 1861 in Gallatin County, Kentucky

6.  John M. Carlton was born 1841 in Gallatin County, Kentucky. He married Mildred F. White on November 11, 1866 in Gallatin County, Kentucky.

7. Thomas Carlton was born April 15, 1844 in Gallatin County, Kentucky and died August 10, 1916 in Gallatin County, Kentucky. He married Mary Chrisman on April 7, 1870 in Grant County, Kentucky. She was born June 28, 1844 and died September 28, 1924,

8. Elizabeth Carlton married Lunsford Noel.

9. Zachariah Taylor was born 1848 in Gallatin County, Kentucky. He married Bettie Lindsey February 2, 1875 in Gallatin County, Kentucky.
