William Cook

William Cook was born circa 1788 in Caroline County, Virginia and married in 1812 in Fayette County, Kentucky, Nancy Webster, born 1790-1792. The family appears on the Pendleton County, Kentucky tax list 1817 through 1819. Being a resident of the portion of Pendleton County that became Grant County, Kentucky in 1820, he thereafter appeared on the Grant County tax list where he owned 100 acres on Eagle Creek. They had three children that we have been able to locate:

1. Samuel, born 1814, died 1862, married April 13, 1836, Campbell County, kentucky, Elizabeth (Betsy) Lancaster, born February 9, 1817, Kenton County, kentucky, died September 17, 1890. There children were:
1.1. Frances Cook, born June 11, 1838, died January 16, 1926, Independence, Missouri. She first married February 9, 1854, James Elrod Tewell and second, Rev. marcus M. Arnold.
1.2 Benjamin H. Cook, born May 8, 1840, died November 3, 1909, buried in Gardnersville Cemetery, Pendleton County, Kentucky, married Francis M. McNay and has eleven children.
1.3 Sarah J. Cook, born 1842, married _____ Cookendorfer.
1.4 Mary E. Cook, born 1843, married Henry Holthouse,lived in Kansas City, Missouri.
1.5 Margaret A. Cook, born 1847, married Columbus (Lum) White.
1.6 Robert Samuel Coo, born 1848.
1.7 George M. Cook, born April 29, 1852, died December 9, 1926, Kenton County, Kentucky, married February 11, 1875, Sarah Jane Stephens, born January 10, 1856, died January 17, 1921.
1.8 John H. Cook, born 1854, died November 16, 1855.
1.9 Agnes Cook, born February 17, 1855, Kenton County, Kentucky.
1.10 David E. Coo, born 1856.
1.11 Addie Belle Cook, born June 28, 1858, died September 14, 1918, married November 16, 1876, William Richard Oliver, buried in pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Pendleton County, Kentucky.
1.12 Charity Cook, married August 7, 1852, Joseph Rariden.
1.13 Samuel Cook, married April 5, 1870, Martha A. Watkins, lived near Dayton, Ohio.

2. William Cook, born circa 1818, married February 3, 1844 Grant County, kentucky, Catharine Ann Webster, born circa 1818, Scott or Fayette County, Kentucky. They had three children:
2.1 Phillip LaFayette Cook, born April 9, 1850, died April 1, 1923, Kenton County, Kentucky, married circa 1871, Boone County, Kentucky, Matilda Caroline Waters, born circa August 8, 1849, died May 5, 1882. Their children:
2.1.1 Edna Cook.
2.1.2 John William Cook, born October 30, 1872, Boone County, Kentucky, died July 9, 1946, Grant County, Kentucky, married January 19, 1903, Grant County, Kentucky, Maude K. McClure, born April 28, 1884, died September 7, 1972, daughter of Stephen A. Dugliss McClure and Henrietta Sturgeon. They had twelve children.
2.1.3 Harve Delmer Cook, born May 26 1874, died April 20, 1938, Grant County, kentucky.
2.1.4 Eva Alma Cook, born July 12, 1878, Kenton County, kentucky, died May 25, 1949, Grant County, Kentucky, married January 13, 1898, Grant County, Kentucky, Jesse W. Varner, born 1870, Grant County, Kentucky, died March 7, 1955, Grant County, Kentucky. They had six children.
2.2 Warren F. Cook, born October 7, 1854, Kenton County, Kentucky.
2.3 William R. Cook, born circa 18680, married Catherine (Kitty) Webster, born 1865, Grant County Kentucky, daughter of Levi Berryman Webster and Elizabeth Herron/Harris.
3. Cynthiana Ann Cook, born 1822, died 1876, married August 6, 1855, James/John Murphy, born 1780, died 1872. Their marriage records say Cynthia, widow Harris. Their children were:
3.1 John E. Murphy, born circa 1856.
3.2 Samuel Murphy, born 1859, died 1932, married laura Dickerson.
3.3. Catherine A. Murphy, born circa 1858.
