John H. Hazelwood
From "Four Families of Ripley County"

John H. Hazelwood was born about 1785 in Virginia and was married August 27, 1807, Pendleton County, Kentucky to Sarah Jarvis. Sarah was born around 1789 in Maryland to William and Margaret Thompson Jarvis. She died in Grant County, Kentucky. Children of John and Sarah were:

1. Thomas A. Hazelwood, born circa 1810, Pendleton County, first married, June 2, 1838 to Frances Ann Dance, daughter of John and Rebecca Brann Dance, born January 18, 1821, died December 30, 1862, Flemingsburg, Fleming County, Kentucky. THey had ten children. He married second, Margaret Stone, born January 27, 1834, died November 5, 1872, Flemingsburg, Fleming County, Kentucky. They had three children.
2. James H. Hazelwood, born November 30, 1812, Pendleton County, died September 16, 1867, Adams County, Illinois, married 1833, Elizabeth Buskirk, born August 8, 1814, died 1885, Adams County, Illinois. They had three children.
3. Margaret Hazelwood, born circa 1813, married June 27, 1833, Pendleton County, Kentucky, Thomas Smith.
4. William Allen Hazelwood, born Pendleton County, Kentucky, died 1878, Grant County, Kentucky, married November 10, 1830, Pendleton County, Kentucky, to Sally Zinn, daughter of John and Elizabeth Kizer Zinn. They had five children.
5. Elizabeth Hazelwood, born Pendleton County, Kentucky, married March 21, 1830, Grant County, Kentucky, to William Zinn, born October 12, 1808, Pendleton County, died February 12, 1892, Madisonville, Palle County, Missouri, son of John and Elizabeth Kizer Zinn.
6. Rev. Willis Green Hazelwood, born September 1, 1820, Grant County, Kentucky, died January 21, 1907, Seward County, NE, married January 20, 1841 to nancy Ann Thompson, born May 27, 1820, Pendleton County, kentucky, died November 18, 1904, daughter of Martin and Elizabeth Thompson. They had seven children.
7. Susan Hazelwood, born circa 1822, married August 19, 1845, Jeremiah Godman.
Note: the relationship, if any, of Clifton hazelwood, who also resided in Grant County, Kentucky in 1820-1821 to the John Hazelwood family above is unknown.
