James M. Littell

James M. Littell was born July 3, 1808, probably at Littell's Station, located at the head of the north fork of Forklick Creek, on or near the dry ridge road southeast of present day Williamstown. He was the second child and second son of James Littell and Milcah Stanford/Standiford, who were married September 6, 1786 in Bourbon County, Virginia/Kentucky. James M. Littell's paternal grandparents were James Littell, ca 1720-1762 and Alice Moffitt, married 1744, both natives of Ireland. His maternal grandparents were Aquila Stanford/Standiford and Sarah Clark.

James M. Littell married November 19, 1833 Sarah Sipple, born March 5, 1815, daughter of John and Amelia (New) Sipple. James M. Littell died April 10, 1879 and Sarah Sipple Littell died October 6, 1891. Their family:
