John C. Masterson was born about 1792 and died 1841 in Grant County, Kentucky. He married first, Nancy, surname unknown. He married second, Mary E. Wilson, July 29, 1823 in Grant County, Kentucky, daughter of John Wilson and Judith Ferguson. She was born March 20, 1794 and died April 20, 1863. Mary is buried in the Masterson and Pattie Family Graveyard in Grant County, Kentucky. John C. Masterson's last will was written April 9, 1841 in Grant County, Kentucky, was produced in open court March 8, 1841 and recorded in Grant County, Kentucky, April 9, 1841.

1. Ariana Matilda Masterson was born 1815 in Virginia. She married Purnell Stewart November 5, 1832 in Grant County, Kentucky. He was born 1804 in Delaware. Their known children are: (1) Annie E. Stewart, born 1834, (2) John Stewart, born 1835, (3) Robert Stewart, born 1837, (4) William Stewart, born 1839, (5) Mary A. Stewart, born 1844 (6) James T. Stewart, born 1846, and (7) Susan A. Stewart, born 1849.
2. Janetta Masterson married Joseph Price. No further information.

The Children of John C. Masterson and Mary E. Wilson are:
1. Ann Patsy Masterson. No further information.
2. Elizabeth "Betsey" Masterson was born in Grant County, Kentucky. No further information.
3. Mary N. Masterson was born 1821 in Kentucky. She married James King on October 23, 1842 in Grant County, Kentucky. He was born about 1821. Their known children are: (1) John King, born 1843, (2) William King, born 1844, (3) Thomas King, born 1846, (4) Napoleon B. King, born 1847, and (5) Benjamin King, born 1849.
4. Nancy Margaret Masterson was born 1824 in Kentucky. She married Reuben Oder, born 1820, on November 27, 1845 in Grant County, Kentucky. He was a carpenter. Their known children are: (1) Judith A. Oder, born 1846, (2) Mary E. Oder, born 1847, (3) Eunice Oder, born 1850, (4) Laura A. Oder, born 1852, (5) Emma Oder, born 1854, (6) Augustus Oder, born 1856, and (7) Claudius Oder, born 1858.
5. Sarah Thomas Masterson was born 1827 in Kentucky. She married William S. Dickerson December 27, 1837 in Grant County, Kentucky. He was born 1826 in Kentucky. Their known children are: (1) John W. Dickerson, born 1849, (2) Ann Dickerson, born 1852, (3) Mary B. Dickerson, born 1856 and, (4) Richard Dickerson, born January 4, 1858.
6. Frances A. Masterson was born February 17, 1835 and died October 27, 1904. She married George Washington Eckler February 23, 1875  [marriage bond date] in Grant County, Kentucky. He was born December 26, 1841 and died October 1, 1906. They are buried in Broad Ridge Cemetery in Grant County, Kentucky. The first wife of George Washington Eckler, Mary E. Hamilton, born March 16, 1844, died October 1, 1869, is also buried in Broad Ridge Cemetery.
