John Wiley Burns Webster

John Wiley Burns was born in 1840 and died March 26, 1875. He was listed with Polly Burns in the 1850 Census of Grant County, Kentucky. He was married under the name of Webster to Louisa Alexander on December 30, 1863 in Grant County, Kentucky. Consent of Mary Alexander, mother of Louisa, was given the same day. Records show that Louisa was previously married to a Mr. Haight by whom she had six children. John enlisted in the Civil War on October 8, 1862 under the name of Webster and was a member of the Confederate unit called the Orphan Brigade. John Wiley Webster is buried in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Gallatin County, Kentucky. After John's death, Louisa married a Mr. McKinley and later married Woodford Hall, the widower of her sister-in-law, Lucinda. She is buried in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Gallatin County, Kentucky as Louisa Hall. The children of John Wiley and Louisa Webster:

1. Edward O. Webster was born in 1864 and died February 22, 1956 in Gallatin County, Kentucky. He married Maggie Sturgeon May 17, 1888 in Kenton County, Kentucky. She was born 1869 and died March 14, 1958 in Gallatin County. They are buried in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Gallatin County, Kentucky. Their known child, Russell Webster, was born 1891 and died 1970. He married Sarah Jane Speagle. She was born about 1891 and died 1973. They are also buried in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Gallatin County, Kentucky.

2. Charles Franklin Webster was born April 21, 1864 in Kentucky and died July 26, 1949. He married Matilda Myers about 1884. She was born on January 25, 1851 and died on June 13, 1944 in Kenton County, Kentucky. They are buried in Pleasant View Church Cemetery in Grant County, Kentucky. Their children were: Lula Webster married married Earl Sturgeon. (2) Nora Webster died in infancy. Ovet Earl Webster, born April 4, 1887 in Grant County, Kentucky, died May 2, 1976 in Boone County, Kentucky. He married Violet Elizabeth Webster June 15, 1915 in Kenton County, Kentucky, daughter of Theopolis Webster and Julia Robinson. She was born April 4, 1898 and died August 9, 1981. Ovet and Violet are buried in New Bethel Cemetery in Verona, Kentucky. They were the parents of Charles Webster, Earl Hadley Webster, and Gladys B. Webster. Gladys was born in 1918, died in 1993, and is buried in New Bethel Cemetery in Verona, Kentucky. (4) Jessie Bernice Webster, born July 13, 1897 Gallatin County, Kentucky, died November 24, 1960 in Campbell County, Kentucky. She married David T. Franks, son of David T. Franks and Sallie Hambrick. David T. was born May 28, 1898 in Gallatin County, Kentucky and died March 22, 1931 in Grant County, and is buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Grant County, Kentucky. Their children were: (a) Ruby Wanda Franks, born July 3, 1931 in Grant County, Kentucky, died October 12, 1991 in Campbell County, Kentucky. She married Melvin Bridewell, October 14, 1936, in Campbell County, Kentucky. He was born November 3, 1918 in Campbell County, Kentucky and died in Campbell County February 27, 1992. Melvin and Ruby are buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, (b) Amy Ruth Franks and, (c) David T. Franks, born September 30, 1928, died September 5, 2000 in Broward County, Florida. He is buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Grant County, Kentucky. After the death of Jessie's first husband, she married George Riley Dean about 1940. He was born February 8, 1900 in Indiana and died January 13, 1979 in Kenton County, Kentucky. Jessie is buried with her second husband in Floral Hills Cemetery in Kenton County, Kentucky.

3. Ollie Webster, born about 1868 married Alice Lambert November 26, 1896. No issue.

4. Ira Webster was born April 1870. He married Nellie Carter July 3, 1895 in Kenton County, Kentucky. Their son, Roy Daniel Webster, married Emma Webster.
