Permission granted by: Rob Dump, Editor, Cedar County News ====================================================================== CEDAR COUNTY NEWS July 27, 1916 Death of Henry DuFrain Henry DuFrain was born in Montreal, Canada, October 4, 1832 and died at his home in this city, Tuesday, July 25, at the age of 84 years. At the age of 16 years he moved with his parents from Canada to St. Ann, Ill., where in 1850 he was united in marriage to Miss Sophia Greenwood. To this union four sons were born. The are Henry DuFrain Jr. of Hartington, Charles of Morman, Okla., Louis of Miltonville, Kans., and E.C. of Goldnen City, Kans. In 1871 he moved with his family to Kansas, where his wife was killed in a tornado soon after. After a short residence at Emerson, NE., he moved in 1897 to Hartington, where he has since resided. For the past 12 years he has made his home with his niece Mrs. Chas. Ireland. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 o’clock from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Ireland. Relatives who attended the funeral from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Vervasi and Frank Lussier of Hubbard, Mr. and Mrs. Van Houten of Winnebago, Emery Greenwood of Crofton, and Mr. J.A. Ireland of Emerson.
