He passed away as a result of complications from a broken hip. Levi, son of John and Catherine Eby, was a resident of Cedar county for 88 years, came to the county with his parents at age 4 in a covered wagon. He farmed 3 years near old St.James (now Wynot). He then moved to a farm north of Laurel, now owned by his son Glenn, and lived there 44 years. The Ebys retired in 1941 and moved to Coleridge. He is the last surviving member of 8 children. He is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Mark (Alta) Seibert of Laurel; Mrs. Chalmer T. (Frances) Wilkerson of Coleridge; and Mrs. Ira E. (Hazel) Wilkerson of Sioux City; one son, Glenn Eby of Laurel; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Paulbearers were Glenn Bettin and Marvin Wilkerson of Sac City, IA, John Weihing of Lincoln, Ray Medlin Jr. of Albion, Wayne Seibert of Laurel and Gordon Wilkerson of Sioux City.
