This file was contributed for use in the NEGenWeb Archives by ====================================================================== Maggie Mae Puntney Eveleth Passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Hight, White River, S.D. at the age of 74 years 5 months and 3 days In about 1880 she moved with her parents to Marshalltown, Iowa and later to Marrietta, Iowa, where she attended school. They later moved to Marcus, Iowa and at the age of 15 Maggie Mae, joined the Christian Church at that place. On May 13, 1888, she was unitd in marriage to Charles Appleton Eveleth of Salix, Iowa and to this union were born twelve children, all whom survive her. In 1895 they moved to Windom. Miinnesota and five years later to Boyd County, Nebraska. In 1907 they moved to Brown County, Nebraska and thirteen years later to Witten, S.D. where they where in business. It was here that her husband passed away on March 4, 1926. Mrs Eveleth moved to Burwell, Nebraska in 1933 and eleven years later returned to S.D. and remained there until the time of her death, except for five months spent with he children in Washington. She was an active member of the Burwell Christian Church, the Royal Neighbor Lodge and the American Legion Auxilliary. Left to mourn her passing are her seven daughters, Edith Hight, White River, S.D.; O'Dessa Johnson, Pasadena, Calif.; Helen Teutsch, Vermillion, S.D.; Lucille Moriss, Tacoma, Washington; Vera Corliss, Summer, Washington; Laura Wildberger, Sturgis S.D.; Wilma Schnell, Seatle, Washington; Five sons, Harlan, Candaiagra, New York; Ray, Murdo, S.D.; Colburn, Oakland, Calif.; Orville, Graham, Washington, and Marion, Shelton, Washington, sisters Nellie Riibe, Hartington, Nebraska; Hattie Johnson, Farmville, Virginia, and Pearl Lanphear, Onawa, Iowa, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
