HILTON-Warren of Chehalis, WA died of COPD on Dec.18, 2005. She was 82. Mrs. Hilton-Warren was born Feb. 7, 1923 at Laurel, NE, to James “Jack” and Blanche (BREWER) Hilton. She grew up in Laurel, NE, where she was a member of Laurel First Presbyterian church. She married Thomas J. Poledna in Nebraska, then moved to Portland, OR, during WWII to work on ships in the shipyards there. They had 2 children together: Darla Sue and Thomas Roger. They later divorced, then in 1949 she married Leroy “Rea” Warren at Stevenson, WA. They lived in the Portland, OR, area where they had 4 children: John Hal, Dorothy Rae, Robert Mark, and Ted Harry. Dorothy worked in Motels, Hotels, Restaurants, and as a school custodian. Mrs. Hilton-Warren’s interests included gardening, cooking, fishing, sewing, crafts, dancing, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was also interested in Genealogy, U.S. and World History. She is survived by a sister, Dr. Jacqueline HILTON–Iasparro of Palmdale, CA; 5 of her 6 children: Thomas R. Poldena of Elma, WA, John H. (Joyce) Warren of Flagstaff, AZ; Dorothy R. (David) Narrance, of Elma, WA; Robert M. (Debra) Warren of Chehalis, WA, and Ted H. (Melody) Warren of Elma, WA. Mrs. HILTON-Warren is also survived by 19 Grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Hilton-Warren attended Presbyterian churches most of her life, and was extremely proud of the fact that she was baptized in water from the River Jordan, and that she became a “born-again” Christian and was saved on Apr. 9, 1939. In 1981, she became a Pentecostal and attended Assemblies of God Churches at Milwaukie, OR, Elma, WA, then later at Tacoma, WA. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters: “Baby" Hilton, Helen “Ilene” Hilton Graffis, her father James “Jack” Hilton, her mother Blanche (BREWER) Hilton, her brother Merton E. Hilton, daughter Darla Sue (Poledna) Parsons, 2 great-granddaughters and a great-grandson. Funeral Services will be Thursday Dec. 22, 2005, at 2:00 pm at Columbia Funeral Home at 681 Columbia Blvd., St. Helens, OR.
