Korth ====================================================================== ARLEY F. LECKLER The angel of death on last Thursday, March 15, entered the happy home of Fred Leckler at West Plains, CO and took to eternal rest Arley, the second eldest son, a young man of 17 years of age. About four weeks ago he was stricken with pneumonia. He was taken to the Sterling Hospital, all medical aid was fruitless and death came to relieve the young man’s suffering. Arley as a small lad attended school in Magnet for some four years and is remembered as a very likable and earnest student. At the time of his death, he was a freshman in a West Plains high school, where he and his brothers held an almost perfect record of attendance. Arley Frederick Leckler was born in Magnet on March 24, 1911 and died at Sterling, Co. on March 15, 1928. At the age of 2 years he moved with his parents to West Plains, returning to Magnet in October 1918 after the death of his mother that summer. The father and sons remained here for three years, during which time Arley attended the Magnet school. In July 1921, together with his father and three brothers, Virgil, Avery and Ralph, who survive his departure, returned to their former home at West Plains, where he remained until his untimely death. His body was accompanied by his father, Fred Leckler and was brought to Randolph on Monday where it was taken to the Brenner & Nelson undertaking parlors to await funeral arrangements. Funeral services were held from the Magnet M.E. church at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon. The church was filled with former neighbors and friends of the Leckler family. The body was laid to rest in the Magnet cemetery beside his mother, who died 10 years ago.
