AND MRS. ED BACKMAN ARE HONORED SUNDAY EVENING Wynot - Mr. and Mrs. Ed Backman observed their 30th wedding anniversary Sunday with their family at home on their farm south of Wynot. Their daughters, Dorothy, Verena and Margaret, who work in Sioux City and their nephew, Cyril Wagers, also of Sioux City, were home for the day. A crowd of old friends, charivaried them at their home in the early evening after which they were guests of honor at a dance in the Jones building in Wynot. At the mock wedding dance Dorothy Backman, daughter of the honored coupled acted as the bride and her cousin Cyril Wagers acted as the bridegroom. Music was furnished by the Lively and Schrempp orchestra. A lunch was served to the guests. The anniversary day was Saturday but was observed Sunday as the family could be home then. Ed Backman and Matilda Reifenrath were married February 11, 1909 at St. Phillips and James Church at St. James by Rev. Father Breirkopf. They have resided on their farm south of town since that time.
