Owens, Margaret (3 JUN 1839 - 16 Jul 1924)

Mrs. Margaret Owens, for 50 years a resident of this locality, died at her home her July 16, 1924, aged over 85 years. Mrs. Owens, whose maiden name was Margaret Gray, was born in the state of Maine, June 3, 1839. She was married to John Owens in Dec. 1856 and for a time lived in Canada, before moving to Clark County, Wis. Mr. Owens died some years ago.

She is survived by nine children: Richard Owens, Sioux Falls, S. D., Mrs. Anton Barton, Mrs. William Barton, and Mrs. C. M. Bradford of Neillsville, John Owens, Pine Valley, James Owens, Neillsville, Mrs. Arthur Windover, Dallas, Oregon, Chauncey Owens, Sioux Falls, S. D. She leaves also 22 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held Saturday afternoon from the home of the daughter, Mrs. C. M. Bradford on Grand Av., Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating.
