Roessler, Gustav (28 Feb 1845 - 17 NOV 1924)
Gustav Roessler, an old resident of this locality, died at his home in the city (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.), Monday, Nov. 17, 1924, at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 23 days.
He was born in Germany Feb. 24, 1845 and grew to manhood there, coming to America when 22 years of age. He settled in Washington Co. near West Bend and was there married to Frances Hanshman, 56 years ago.
They came to Clark County in 1882 and settled on a farm in the town of Grant, where they lived until about 15 years ago, when they moved to Neillsville. Mr. Roessler followed the carpenter trade a great deal of the time, even while living on the farm. He was considered a very competent and conscientious workman. He was active in public affairs for many years, being town clerk, and school clerk, and also took an active part in politics.
His wife died several years ago. He is survived by three sons, Otto of Neillsville, Louie and Ernest of North Dakota, and two daughters, Emma of Neillsville, and Mrs. Amelia Hunter of Medford, Oregon. The funeral will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church.
