Dr. L. Barber received a visit Tuesday and Wednesday from his wife and her sister, Miss Turley. They rode over from Chili on their wheels. Greenwood Gleaner (Greenwood, Clark County, Wis.) 6 July 1900
Dr. Richmond was over from Loyal Thursday morning, consulting with Dr. Barber. Gleaner 9-13-1901.
A modest bill of expense for legal advice, witnesses, etc., considerable additional advertising for the defendant and some amusement for the public is about the net results of the case of the City of Greenwood vs. Dr. J. L. Barber on the charge of using his position as health officer for personal gain on charges preferred by Oliver Newton which was tried before the City Council as jurymen Tuesday afternoon. L. M. Sturdevant was council for defense, while R. F. Kountz acted for the city. Greenwood Gleaner, 7 Mar 1902.
