Smith, George (1837 - 23 OCT 1929)
George Smith, who was for some years a resident of Neillsville, died Oct. 23, 1929 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nutting, at Goodrich. Mr. Smith was 82 years of age at the time of his death.
He was born in New Brunswick and came to Manitowoc, Wis. when a small boy. In 1874 he was married to Hannah Barber of Chilton. In 1882 they moved to Boyd, residing there till 1896, when they moved to Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., where Mr. Smith carried on the North Side Store until 1903. He then sold out and moved to Plaza, N.D., where he took up a homestead.
His wife died in 1911 and his son, George Smith Jr., died in 1919. Since then he has been living with his two daughters, Mrs. Nutting and Mrs. Barker.
He was buried at Boyd, Wis.
