Maslowski, Leon (1 APR 1893 - 18 OCT 1918)
The body of Leon Maslowski arrived here from France on Friday last and was taken to the home of his parents in the town of Reseberg, Clark County, Wis. This young man enlisted for service in the World War on Oct. 3, 1917, and after the customary period of training went to France with the 361st Regiment. In battle of the Muese Argonne Forest on Oct. 13, 1918, he was severely wounded, which resulted in his death on Oct. 18th. Deceased was the son of Mr.a nd Mrs. Simon Maslowski of the town of Reseberg, where he was born on April 1, 1893, being 25 years, 6 months and 18 days of age at the time of his death. He is survived by his parents, six brothers and four sisters. The funeral which was very largely attended, was held on Monday from St. Hedwig's Church, the edifice being crowded to the doors, Father F. A. Kulig officiating. The American Legion had charge of the services at the grave, six ex-servicemen, Ed Glamkowski, Louis V. Kaczor, Peter Zukowski, Elmer Swim, Allie Kuntz, and Charles Zachow serving as pallbearers, the firing squad and sounding of taps concluding the services.
