Pettet, Alonzo (1817 - 4 Jan 1901)
Died, at Holdimand, Ontario, on Wednesday, Jan. 4th, 1901, Alonzo Pettet, aged 83 years.
Mr. Pettet will be remembered by the old residents of Dorchester, Clark County, Wis., as one of its earliest settlers. He will be especially remembered by the old hunters of this vicinity, as he was an ardent sportsman, and many a denizen of the forest has fallen before unerring aim.
He formerly owned and occupied the residence now owned by Jacob Lapp, and occupied by Charles Bitter, where his wife died eight years ago last fall. Since that time, he has resided with different relatives in various parts of the country. On his last trip to Dorchester, about three years since, he appeared remarkably hale and hearty for one of his age. About two years ago he went to Canada, where he resided with a niece until his death.
