Cade, Jessie F. (17 Mar 1891 - 1 NOV 1894)
Died, at the home of its parents, at Neenah, Wis., on Thursday, Nov. 1st, 1894, Jessie Florence, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Cade, aged 3 years, 7 months and 15 days.
The bereaved parents have many friends in this city (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.) who will deeply sympathize with them in their great loss.
The remains were brought to this city Saturday evening. The funeral took place at the M. E. Church on Sunday and the remains were interred in Colby Cemetery, Rev. D. P. Olin of Spencer officiating.
The following lines were contributed by Jessie’s uncle, Ira L. Cole:
A smiling face is absent,
A merry voice is still,
A place is vacant at the table
Which no one else can fill.
A hush had fall o’er us all
And silence ruled our home;
It seemed that no one cared to speak,
Since little Jesse had gone.
The dreary state remained unchanged,
Until, the other day –
I heard a voice, and looking up,
To me, it seemed to say,
"Now papa, mama, brothers all,
Don’t feel so bad because I’m gone;
I’m happy now for I’ve been given
A robe and crown, and live in Heaven."
