At the residence of the groom’s mother, on Sept. 6, 1884, Elijah S. Warner and Mary A. Thombson, of Duran, Pepin Co., were united in the holy bonds of matrimony, by D. T. Donahoe, Justice of the Peace. At the close of the ceremony the bridal pair were congratulated by a sudden enthusiastic salute of cannon, fife and drums, from a serenading party to which Elijah responded by accompanying the boys to Ed Simerson’s sample room, where they indulged freely in the ardent and wished Mr. and Mrs. Warner abundance of happiness and a multitude of ruddy fat faces.
