Stone, John F. (1813? - 7 Mar 1889)

John F. Stone, a former resident of this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.), was run over and instantly killed by a freight train while walking along the track in the city of Eau Claire on Thursday afternoon of last week. The accident was wholly due to the deafness of the deceased, whose hearing was almost entirely gone. Mr. Stone was 75 years of age and leaves a widow and several children in good circumstances. The funeral occurred at Augusta on Saturday afternoon last and was largely attended.
