(26FEB 1823 - 25 Feb 1894) Elisha Lanphear
died of pneumonia at his home in the town of Reseburg, Clark
County, Wis. on Sunday Evening, Feb. 25, 1894. Mr. Lanphear was
born near Ogdensburg, NY on Feb. 26, 1823, where he resided until
1859, when he came to Wisconsin and settled on a farm near
Greenbush, Sheboygan, Co. Upon the call for volunteers he enlisted
in Co. B, 8th Wis., in which regiment he served faithfully during
the continuance of the war. In 1882 he removed to a farm near this
village where, with the exception of last year, he has since
resided. Mr. Lanphear was twice married, his first wife dying
during the war, the second dying here about four years ago. His
children, three in number, all by his first wife, are Joseph
Lanphear of Ely, Minn., Mrs. Julia Gillman of Greenbush, Wis., and
Mrs. Eva Hill of Osceola, Iowa, all of whom survive him. The
interment took place yesterday, Asbra Welcome Post No. 193 having
