Mrs. Mary Schroeder, wife of Peter Schroeder, died on Sunday last after an illness of about four weeks with typhoid fever. She was born in New York State, Nov. 4, 1839, and moved to Fairbault, Minn. with her parents when about ten years of age, and where she was united in marriage with Peter Schroeder Oct. 30, 1866. After residing near Blue Earth City on a farm for a number of years she moved to Spencer, this state, with her husband, and in 1880 to this place (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.). Always fond of home, she made few acquaintances during her long residence here. She leaves a husband, one son, Henry, three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Braseau and Mrs. Polonia Brelsford of Blue Earth City, Minn., and Mrs. Sofia A. straight of Trippville, Wis., and two brothers, Mitchell DuCate of Ashland, Wis., and Mose DuCate of Unity, all of whom were present at the fuenral (except Mrs. Straight), which occurred on Wednesday from the M. E. Church, Rev. J. B Bachman officiating.
