Dr. Frank Alfred Boeckman was born in La Crosse the ninth of November, 1886, the son of a blacksmith who had immigrated from Germany, Fred Boeckman and his wife, the former Frances Held. He moved to Greenwood, Eaton Twp., Clark Co., Wisconsin to practice medicine about 1910. He was a young man of dependable character who gained the respect of many friends. Tuesday morning Sept. 9th, 1913, at nine o’clock Rev. H. H. Boeckmann of Greenwood joined Frank and Mary Wahaska (born December 15, 1887) of Ripon in Holy matrimony at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The couple honeymooned in Milwaukee and La Crosse for a week before settling into their home in Greenwood which the doctor had recently purchased.
Frank later moved his medical practice to Marshfield, Wisconsin. Oct. 30, 1957 he died in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, just a few weeks before his 72nd birthday and is buried in the "Gate of Heaven" cemetery, Marshfield, Wis. Mary passed away at the age of 91 on New Years Day, 1979. She shares a grave stone marker with Frank.
Dr. Frank Alfred Boeckman was a frequent patron at the Greenwood, Wisconsin Central Hotel July 21, 1917. The ledger for that business shows not only bears his signature.
