Wolf, Lucille Martha (22 December 1935 - 28 December 2020)
Lucille Martha (Gotz) Wolf, 85, of Marshfield, was called home to her precious
Lord and Savior in the early hours of December 28, 2020, surrounded by her
family in the family home.
Lucille was born on Dec 22, 1935 to Bernice (Baltus) and George Gotz in
Auburndale. The oldest of five sisters, she grew up on the family farm and was
involved in 4-H, showing sheep with her sisters following in their father’s
footsteps. She graduated from AHS in 1953 and worked in Wausau, at the county
courthouse.
Lucille married the love of her life, Martin, on October 16, 1956. They then
moved to Wauwatosa, where their firstborn, Cheryl, arrived. They returned to
Martin’s family farm in Marshfield in 1959 to continue their farming legacy
until retirement in 1996.
During their farming years, Martin and Lucille welcomed five more children, for
a total of six. They instilled hard work, dedication and community involvement.
She taught her children how to cook, bake, sew and supported their hard work in
4-H and academic and extracurricular activities. Lucille loved to garden and
stocked the freezer and shelves with a variety of vegetables and fruit to be
enjoyed throughout the year. She took pride in her meticulous lawn and numerous
flower gardens on the family farm. She enjoyed playing card games with friends
(especially Sheepshead) and loved to play Bingo with her grandchildren! Lucille
also enjoyed sewing quilts, sharing them with family and proudly displaying them
throughout their home. She was actively involved in Webster 4-H as a parent and
project leader; as well as Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Bakerville,
dedicating her time to the PCCW, CCD and decorating the church for masses.
Lucille also volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry for many years.
Following their retirement from dairy farming in 1996, Lucille and Martin
enjoyed travelling throughout the United States and Europe. They purchased their
first team of Belgian Horses in 1997, which inspired them to create an
environment of fun and education on the family farm. In 1998, Lucille and Martin
opened their first pumpkin patch to the public. This eventually expanded to
include corn mazes and horse-drawn wagon rides and winter sleigh rides. They
hosted countless school-age groups and private parties on their farm. Lucille
shared her love of baking and being a beloved hostess to many.
Lucille’s pride and joy were her children, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. She loved being surrounded by her family for any occasion
and was able to enjoy many of her grandchildren’s weddings. She was ecstatic to
become a great-grandmother to the set of twins in 2015!
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Bernice and George Gotz; her
sister Dorothy Cournoyer (2016) and brother in-law Jim Cournoyer (2020) and Bill
(Willard) Heeg (1994) as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Lucille is survived by her husband, Martin, of 64 years; their children Cheri
(Barry) Schulman, Patrick (Cathy) Wolf, Dale (Kitty) Wolf, Diane (Ed) Braza,
Beth (Doug) Zarnke, and Kim (John) Corrigall; grandchildren Ryan (Carly Finton)
Schulman, Amanda Schulman, Michael (Anne) Wolf, Nate (Liz) Wolf, Caroline
(Tyler) Pacquin, Matthew (Alicia) Braza, Morgan Braza (special friend Kishore V.
Damodaran), Allie (Adam) Berger, Zach (Jessica) Zarnke, Hannah (Brenton)
Engevold, Jordan Corrigall (special friend Ellie McKee) and Olivia Corrigall; as
well as great-grandchildren Shane, Landon and Stanley Wolf, Maddie Wolf, and
Jackson, Alainna and Grace Zarnke.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Lucille’s memory to St.
Vincent Food Pantry in Marshfield as well as St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

Our family would like to share heartfelt thanksgiving to all those who offered
prayers, well-wishes, condolences, meals and support during our mother’s
illness, especially the team of Ascension Home Hospice Nurses and Staff. Your
kindness and thoughtfulness were met with such awe, but not a surprise, as all
who met our mother seemed to love her. We will cherish this time we have spent
caring for her, and greatly appreciate all you have done for us in order to make
that possible. Our family has been truly blessed!
