Kruse, Naomi G. (24 MAR 1921 - 7 MAY 2014)

Naomi G. Kruse, 93, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Wednesday May 7, 2014. She was born March 24, 1921 in Colby, WI to Alphonse and Gertrude (nee: Kaiser) Schmitt. Naomi moved from Colby, WI to Evanston following graduation to work as a restaurant hostess and nanny where she met and married Harry. They settled in Des Plaines for a period before moving to Grayslake in 1971. She was a member of St. Gilbert Church for over 40 years. Naomi was an accomplished seamstress and loved to crochet and knit. Naomi is survived by her husband of 65 years, Harry, her children Nancy (Ed) Sanaghan, Don (Kathy), Steve (Sibby), Bob (Katie), Tom (Kathy), and Mary (Lou) Lettenmair, her 22 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and her siblings Emery (Rita) Schmitt, Mark (Delores) Schmitt, Linus (Joan) Schmitt, Tim (Suzie) Schmitt, Mercedes Lang, Germaine (Fred) Redmann, Mary Ann (Ted) Scanlon, and Verjean Kunze. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Rita Peterson, Maude Kocian, Carmen Fosdick, Pamela Schmitt, and Blanche Zera, and a brother Roman Schmitt. A memorial mass and visitation is scheduled for Saturday May 31, 2014 with the visitation from 10:00am until 11:00am and the mass commencing at 11:00am at St. Mary's Church in Colby, WI. The inurnment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association .
