After 30 years of faithful service, Merrill "Bunny" Hare, has retired from the
Greenwood Fire Department.
On Monday evening, May 24, 1971, the Greenwood Fire Department members, their
wives and city council members and their wives held a surprise appreciation
party for Mr. Hare at the Fire Station.
A potluck and bratwurst supper was served.
Fire Chief Louis Kebl presented Bunn with a gift of money from members of the
Fire Department, which is to be used by his to purchase something for his
favorite sport, fishing.
The other gift, to be presented, did not arrive and will be presented at a later
date.
