Murphy, Roy C. (12 APR 1906 – 21 OCT 1970)
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Alliance Missionary
Alliance Church, Owen, for Roy C. Murphy, 64, of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), who
died on Wednesday, October 21, 1970 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield
following an apparent heart attack.
The Rev. Lester Kringley officiated and burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Murphy was born April 12, 1906 in Indiana, and came to the Owen area with
his parents when he was a small boy. He was married in Owen August 25, 1929 to
Alice (Stacey) Budd, who preceded him in death August 13, 1959. His second
marriage took place June 17, 1967 in Duluth to Sylvia Erickson, who survives
him. He had made his home on a farm near Owen all his life.
Other survivors are a son, Clifford Murphy, Warren Michigan; seven daughters,
Mrs. Bernard (June) Clouse, Loyal; Mrs. Edward (Selma) Brzezinski, Krakaw; Mrs.
Kenneth (Zelda) Schulte, Zumbrota, Minn.; Mrs. Bernard (Helen) Eron,
Neillsville; Mrs. Arvin (Elanore) Langjahr, Unity; Mrs. Duane (Patricia) Pecher,
Dorchester; Mrs. Clemen (Grace) Pecher, Marshfield; a step-son, Claude Erickson;
and a step-daughter, Mrs. Donald Esselstron, Duluth; 46 grandchildren; a sister,
Mrs. Walter Arlozynski, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and two brothers, Ralph and
Lloyd Murphy, both of Milwaukee..
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by two sons and a
daughter.
