Bogdonovich, Margaret L. "Marge" (19 DEC 1922 – 15 OCT 2018)
Margaret L. “Marge” Bogdonovich, 95, Greenwood, passed away on Monday, Oct. 15,
2018, at the Marshfield Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11
a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 27, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood. Rev. Leo
Stanislaus will officiate, and interment of cremains will take place in Holy
Family Catholic Cemetery in Willard at a later date. Visitation will be held at
the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Margaret Luella Thompson was born on Dec. 19, 1922, in Knoxville, Tenn., to Edd
and Pearl (nee Lawson) Thompson. As a young girl, her family moved to California
where she was raised and received her education. After graduating from high
school, Marge worked in a factory building airplanes for the war. She married
Peter P. Bogdonovich on Sept. 27, 1942, in San Bernardino, Calif. In 1947, they
moved to Willard and took over the Bogdonovich family farm for Pete’s father.
They farmed together in Willard until her husband’s death on Sept. 20, 1981.
Marge then moved into Greenwood and sold the farm. She resided in Greenwood
until the time of her death. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and
the Greenwood American Legion Auxiliary. Marge had many interests, but
especially enjoyed being with her family, playing bingo, going to the casino,
going out for morning coffee, traveling, and going to Nashville for Fan Fair.
She will be missed by her two sons: Mike (Patricia) Bogdonovich of Milwaukee,
and Pete (Pat) Bogdonovich of Greenwood; seven grandchildren; 18
great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three brothers: Ron (Jean)
Post of Dallas, Ore., Wylie (Kathy) Post of Laguna Woods, Calif., and Dan
(Nancy) Post of Albany, Ore.; two sisters-in-law: Mona Post of Laguna Woods,
Calif., and Cheryl Post of Laguna Beach, Calif.; and nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Pete; her son: Richard;
her step-father: William Post; one sister: Barbara Underbakke; and three
brothers: Lee Thompson, Carl Post and Curt Post.
