Turner, Fred H. (3 JAN 1887 – 26 MAR 1970)
Funeral services for Fred Turner, 83, were Saturday, March 28, 1970, at 1:30
p.m. at Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby. He died at his home in Colby (Clark Co.,
Wis.) Thursday, March 26, 1970, at 10 a.m., of old age complications.
The Rev. Francis Rushman officiated at the funeral services and interment, which
was made in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Fred Henry Turner was born in Germany January 3, 1887, and came to this country
in 1912. He married Hattie Weller in Chicago on October 2, 1926, who survives.
They had no children.
Mr. Turner worked in New York, Indianapolis, and in Chicago, where he was
affiliated with a German Language newspaper for a time. The major part of his
life was spent in the gathering and distribution of educational films, which was
his business until he retired in 1961. The couple came to Colby at that time.
One sister, Anna Biermann, in Germany, also survives.
Deceased are three brothers and one sister.
