Even at the turn of the century saloons were the men's gathering place. Waldo
Young, Julius Lindner, Nick Klassen, John Bauer, George Betzold, A .J. Braun,
Frank Vetter, A. H. Altman, Aaron Blumenstein and Sam Leabel were operators of
the ten going places. Three of these locations have been updated to tavern and
inn of today.
