This could have been any "pup town" way back then. Loyal had many barns in the back yard. If there wasn't a driving horse or two, there was a cow, or maybe both. It was not unusual to pasture them on one side of town or the other. If there weren't boys in the family, then the pretty maids had to do the job. Who knows how many romance} took place at the gate of the pasture!

Later years there were milk routes like Francis Clark had and then Charles Davel. They delivered the milk in buckets with a cover and later in glass bottles.

Of the more recent were Bremer's Dairy and Wolf's Dairy. At present there is none in Loyal, but milk is trucked in for delivery.
