Kippenhan, Petty Officer Third Class Roger K., U.S.N. (Award - 1977)
Petty Officer Th9ird Class Roger K. Kippenhan, U.S.N., son of Mr. and Mrs.
George E. Kippenhan, Rt. 1 Greenwood, has been awarded by the Secretary of the
Navy the “Navy Unit Commendation Award.”
The ribbon was awarded to Petty Officer Kippenhan for development, acquisition,
and operation of space satellites while working with the Navy Space Project
Group at the Naval Communications Area Master Station, West Pacific, Guam,
during the period September 1975 through December 1976.
Petty Officer Kippenhan is currently stationed aboard the USS Forrestal, an
aircraft carrier homeported at Mayport, Florida. Petty Officer Kippenhan is on
an eleven day leave to spend Thanksgiving at the home of his parents and other
relatives before returning to Florida.
