Mary N. Langhus, Colby, is a recipient of $100 leadership and service award to
attend the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point next fall as a freshman.
The award is given annually by the UW-SP Alumni to outstanding incoming freshmen
in recognition of their academic achievement, service to society and leadership
efforts.
Miss Langhus has been active in volunteer work for the Clark County Hospital and
the Youth Association for Retarded Children (YARC), is president of the high
school forensics club, secretary of the National Honor Society, twirling squad
captain and news editor of the school’s newspaper.
She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Langhus, route 2, Colby.
