Dorchester High School’s graduating class of 1950 held its 25th reunion Saturday
evening, June 28, 1975, at the American Legion Club Rooms in Medford. Mrs.
Norman Lindau, Mrs. Gerald Baker and Donald Schumacher were in charge of
arrangements.
Schumacher was toastmaster and led the prayer, followed by a moment of silence
for a deceased classmate. Folloiwng the dinner, each class member spoke briefly
on their activities through the years. Mrs. Lindau read letters from classmate
Mrs. Ronald Larson (Marion Miller and Mrs. Norman (Broeske) Wilke, and teachers
Warren Otto, Two Rivers, Fred Schwierske and Delos Kobs, Mt. Horeb, who were
unable to attend.
Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Arnold Schaefer, first reservation, Gene Lapp, most
bald and also no children, Mrs. Jason Thomas, traveling farthest distance, and
Mrs. Don Bockin, last reservation.
Guests present were Mr. and Mrs. George (Dorothy Carlson) Fischbach, Greendale,
and latter a teacher at DHS.
Class members attending were Mr. and Mrs. Eon (Elaine Broeske) Bockin;
Stetsonville; Mr. and Mrs. William Jantsch, Dubuque, Iowa;, Mr. and Mrs. Irv
(Doris Fierke) Klieforth, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Gene Lapp, Belvidere,
Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold (Virginia Gall) Schaefer, Athens; Mr. and Mrs.
Donald Schumacher, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Jason (Doris Zuther) Thomas,
Indianapolis, Indiana; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald (Joan Hennlich) Baker, Dorchester;
Mr. and Mrs. Norbert (Mary Lou Hurth) Brandner and Mrs. Norman (Marleen Gruny)
Lindau, Medford.
Other classmates not attending were John Lapp, Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Hinke, Mr. and
Mrs. Gerald Tauchen and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Seidel, Dorchester; Mr. and Mrs.
Duane (Jean Miller) Korb, San Diego, California; and Mr. and Mrs. Dale
Wainscott, Oak Creek.
It was agreed to have another reunion in five years, with Mrs. Brandner, Mrs.
Schaefer and Mrs. Klieforth in charge.
