The Rev. E.T. Keller officiated at the Saturday afternoon, June 19, wedding for
Julie Ann Schwanebeck and Frederick D. Hiles. The nuptials were held at the St.
John’s Lutheran Church, Pittsville. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs.
Milden Schwanebeck of Pittsville and Mr. and Mrs. William Hiles, Sr., Wisconsin
Rapids.
Joan Vilter, a friend of the bride from Oconomowoc, was the maid of honor.
Bestman was Ray Bowden, a friend of the groom from Flagstaff, Arizona. Ushering
were Tim Hiles of Wisconsin Rapids and Steve Schwanebeck of Pittsville, brothers
of the couple. The bride’s personal attendant was Amy Schwanebeck.
Special music at the service was provided by Sue Benner, Corinne Friedrichsen
and Mary Schwanebeck.
The bride chose a nylon, sheer-over-taffeta gown with Chantilly lace, shoulder
drape and a full A-line skirt extending to a chapel-length train. She also wore
a bowler-style hat which held an illusion veil. She carried a bouquet of pink
roses, white daisies, blue carnations and baby’s breath. Her attendant wore a
powder blue dress which was trimmed in white lace; she carried a bouquet of blue
and white carnations and baby’s breath.
Following the service, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall, which
was followed by a dance at the Southern Clark County Sportsmen’s Clubhouse,
Granton.
Prenuptial events included showers hosted by the groom’s sister and aunts, the
bride’s aunts and by Sherwood neighbors.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Hiles will make their home in Wisconsin Rapids. She is a
graduate of Pittsville High School and from UW-Oshkosh in nursing; she is
presently employed at Riverview Hospital, Wisconsin Rapids. Her husband, also a
graduate of Pittsville High, is employed by Consolidated Papers, Inc., of
Wisconsin Rapids.
