Fred Olson's Thrashing Business
Contributed by Byron Olson
In the early 1900's, Andrew Frederick "Fred" Olson had a thrashing business in Northeastern Clark Co., WI.
Fred and his wife Sarah (Tuttle) were residing in Cherokee, Marathon Co. at the time, but he had grown up in Curtiss, Clark County, Wisconsin and her family were long time residents of Colby, WI. His equipment, pictured above, included a "Strathman" tractor which cost him $4,800, as well as a Minneapolis Moline & Ford tractor. His thrashing rig was purchased for $2,500. He later sold this business to Carrie & Dan Ramker. |
