More Photos of the Dorchester Grade School
This building was once located on the lot which now the home of Jim Jantsch (2007). The building was removed and by the thirties, the south end of it took on a new existence as the Standard Service Station (pictured in the 1940 photo below). In the picture above; you are looking at the east side of the building which is the reason that the windows don't match up. The entire structure as you see it in the picture was moved exactly as you see it; as there was no hope of turning it around. So the wide end of the school is not visible at all in the picture of the schoolhouse as a garage. Jim Jantsch, Dorchester, WI Historian.
