POINDEXTER CEMETERY
Silver Creek Township, Clark County, Indiana
Jeanne Burke reports that Poindexter Cemetery is in Silver Creek Twp.near the Clark/Floyd Co. line in Grant 108 (on the old Poindexter farm), 1-1/4 miles west of Sellersburg.  Click here for a topographical map of the approximate area, courtesy of www.topozone.com. The exact location has been unknown for many years.  In it are buried:
Clevius Swift Poindexter (12/12/1797-4/12/1837)
and his wife,
Nancy Holland Poindexter (approx. d/o/b 1801-1809-from 1840 census-died 1854).
Jeanne Burke doesn't have any information on other burials in this cemetery, but there are more than just these two.

The source of information is Mr. Pinkney Sellers (1868-1937), a grandson of these Poindexters.  He mentioned in 1934 that he tried to get his relatives to do something about restoring the cemetery in 1904 but surmises that nothing was done and that it had likely
disappeared by 1934.  Most of this area is subdivisions now.

We have no further information available at this time.
