Brick Walls
I'm looking for information on Bernard EDWARS, b. in Lynchburg, Campbell, VA and died 27 Apr 1877 in Todd Co. He came to Todd County in 1808 and lived there the rest of his life. He married a woman named Martha and had children: William, Mary Ann, Gillie G., Mary, Louisa Fontaine and Peyton G.
Bernard settled first at Elk Fork, on land later owned by John RUSSELL. He later moved to a farm he passed down to his son Peyton. He enlisted in the War of 1812, but he sent a substitute. In 1820, Bernard served on the first Grand Jury empaneled with Todd County became a County.

The following may also be true:
- He returned to VA to marry, marrying Martha DAVENPORT in 1811.
- He married a woman named Martha COLEMAN in Virginia before coming to KY. This theory is based on a family story supposedly backed up by a family bible, but only the DAVENPORT marriage is found in any records.
- He was born 19 Oct 1785, the son of Wiliam and Patsy (GLOVER) EDWARDS. This theory fits with a name of his son as Peyton Glover.
- He was the son of John EDWARDS and Gazilla GHEE.

The above scenarios have all be found on websites maintained by people who are not direct descendants and got the information _somewhere_, they don't know where. Please help!
