A WORD ABOUT POSTMARKS

    MANUSCRIPT POSTMARKS:  a postmark that was handwritten by the postmaster.  It consists of the post office, state, and date. The reason the postmark was handwritten could be either the postmaster did not have or had yet to receive his handstamp postmark from the Post Office Department.
