CLAYPOOL/PARRISH CEMETERY

Established in 1861, this cemetery is located on a portion of the Reuben Claypool donation land claim, near the Rock Hill school. It is in a pasture and must be traveled on foot, T13S R2W Sec 5. When Leslie Haskin surveyed the cemetery in 1939, he described it as poorly fenced and little cared for. The first burial was that of William E. Dickson, who died July 14, 1861. In 1863, Hiram Jackson (b. 1799) and Reuben Claypool (b. 1791) were buried there.
