Who do you recognize in this photo that was taken during a much warmer time of year when snow pants or big winter coats were certainly not needed?  Let us know if you can identify anyone in this cheerful group comprised of numerous women and children, or would like to share other details you may recall with us and The Thorp Courier readers.

Last Week's Photo:

In regards to last week’s Way Back When photo, Ramona Grimes sent us information about her parents who are the wedding couple pictured.

The wedding picture of Ida (Zimmer) Daniel and Reinhold Daniel was taken in December 1921.  Ida was born in Reseburg, and Reinhold was born in Germany.  He grew up in Milwaukee until 18 years old and then moved with his family to Reseburg.  They both passed away in 1979 after having lived in the Morgan Plaza for five years.

The Daniel’s raised two daughters, one of which was Aline Bobb (deceased in 1961), married to Kenneth Bobb (deceased in 1961) and Ramona Grimes, married to Rodney Grimes (deceased in 2007).

Five grandchildren were born to the daughters and are as follows: Carolyn Herseth, Daniel Bobb, Anita Nye, Susan Berndt, and Steven Grimes (deceased in 2005).

Ida and Reinhold belonged to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, first in Reseburg and then in Thorp, after it was moved.  They enjoyed farming and growing vegetables and flowers.  Ida loved to sew, crochet, cook, bake, canning, and they both enjoyed spending time with their family and friends.
