Clarissa Benedict

November 2, 1834 - February 19, 1901

Clarissa (aka Clara) Benedict was the first wife of Adonijah Benedict, a pioneer of York Township and a Civil War veteran.  She was the daughter of Albert and Caroline Bryant from Fond du Lac County. The 1870 Federal Census for Fond du Lac County lists a Clarissa Benedict living in Eldorado Township with her husband, Adonijah and four sons, including a sixteen-year-old son, Sanford.  As Adonijah Benedict’s wife, she was also Rollie Benedict’s grandmother and Lulu Kronberger’s great-grandmother.
