Glenn Lavey

April 24, 1903 - October 12, 1987

Glenn Lavey was a son of Frank and Lillie Lavey, who came to Clark County from Calumet County in 1901.  The Frank Lavey family first settled in Grant Township and then later moved to a farm in Section 23 on Romadka Road in York Township.  His mother, Lillie Lavey, was a niece to Ella Graves (Hubert Graves’ wife and Ethel Graves/Dwight Graves’ mother) and was also a niece to Emma Bolton (Samuel Bolton’s wife and Hugh Bolton’s, Eva Bolton’s, and Marion Thomson’s mother).  Glenn was the husband of Elizabeth (nee Johnson) Lavey, a descendant of the Johnsons and McMahons, who were early pioneers of York Township.  The children of Glenn and Elizabeth Lavey were Norbert Lavey, David Lavey, and Joan Buchanan.  Norbert Lavey married Jean Kronberger at York Center Methodist Church on November 26, 1951.  Similarly, Joan Lavey married John (Jack) Buchanan at York Center Church on June 20, 1959.  The other son, David is married to the former Beverly Rollins.
