Emma Root

July 9, 1854 - May 25, 1926

A daughter of Edward Gibson, Emma (nee Gibson) Root was the wife of George Root, an early pioneer of York Township.  The 1880 Federal Census for Clark County lists an Emma Root living in York Township as the 25-year-old wife of a G. A. Root.  Emma Root is believed to have been a sister to Herbert Gibson (Maud Humiston's husband), Hannah Graves (Walter Graves' wife) and Martha Graves (believed to have been Walter Graves' second wife); all of whom are buried in York Center Cemetery.
