I have begun researching just recently and am looking for information on my ggrandmother. she was born Laura Estelle Daniel on 25 Apr 1884 in Heard Co, GA. She was the d/o Benjamin Daniel and Cordelia Gay. Can anyone help me out with information on this family. I'm not sure at what point they moved, but she died in Hamilton County, TN in 1942. JOHNSON, McCANN

I am searching for any information on my grandfather Berry Clinton "Buck" MCCANN, was said to be born in Heard Co. in 1880. I do know his mother was Elizabeth JOHNSON MCCANN, that's all I know of his parents. His siblings were John, Jim, Andrew, Melinda, Maggie and Mollie. The first record I can find on him was in 1900 when he married Stella Wright in Troup Co. and lived there until his death in 1966. Anyone with any knowledge of these families please contact me. I would really appreciate any information.

Looking for information on Edward Eli PHILLIPS reportedly born in Heard County November 5 1852. Son of Lucy?. Married Amanada Jane Shaver from and in Norcross GA about 1872. They had 10 clildren. I am hoping to complete large tree links with Edward's parents or other relatives. Any data will be appreciated.

PYLES

Looking for any information on the PYLES family. Several were killed by a steem driven wheat threshing machine that exploded on June 12th, 1914. There was an article about the accident in the news paper. I have a copy of the article but it has no name of the paper. John R. PYLES, born ?, died 6/12/1914 is my gg-grandfather W. E. (Ed) PYLES, born 02/01/1875, died 06/12/1914, is my g-grandfather. Ed PYLES had two son that were killed in the explosion also they were Glenn and Charlie PYLES. I would like to find out more information about John R. PYLES, who his parents were and the names of any other children. Thanks very much for any help.

I am researching the COOK family of Heard County. Newton Jasper COOK was my great-grandfather and his father was Miledge COOK. Miledge married Mary Elizabeth ADAMS. Does anyone have any info on Miledge's parents. I am also researching David Erastus Adelaska MATHEWS, Erastus Z. MATHEWS, and Moses R. MAT(T)HEWS. E.Z. MATHEWS was born in 1865. Does anyone know if Moses was his father or any other info on any of these people. Thank you.


BRITTAIN/BRITTON, MOSELEY, POPPHAN, WALKER

Researching the Benjamin F. MOSELEY family from Heard County, Ga. Benjamin married Frances Permelia WALKER. I have information on Frances' parents but have nothing on Benjamin's. Census records indicate that the MOSELEY'S and WALKER'S came from SC. Benjamin and Frances MOSELEY show up on Heard County Census in 1850 where they remained and raised several children. I come down the line from their son, John Lynn MOSELEY who married Josie BRITTAIN (BRITTON) then their son Arthur Glen MOSLEY who married Laura R. POPPHAN. Arthur Glen and Laura MOSLEY came to Texas where they raised several children. Would appreciate any help on finding Benjamin's parents or exchange information on any of my lines.

Searching for the parents' names of Mary Ann ASHLEY, born Nov 8, 1836 and married to Francis Marion SCREWS. Mary Ann ASHLEY and F.M. SCREWS are buried with some of their children at Salem United Methodist Church Cemtery in Heard County, GA their children were Leva SCREWS (married a Bishop), born ca 1876 Rob, Sim, Henry, Amanda, Emma and Elmira SCREWS. Would like to know the parents of Mary Ann ASHLEY. Was Mary Ann ASHLEY related to Reuben ASHLEY and his family who lived in Heard County, GA between 1850 and 1900.?

CHAPMAN, CHATMAN

I am looking for information on my ggf Willliam R. CHATMAN (CHAPMAN), he lived in Heard County after the civil war. Have info that he was married to an indian. My g/f James D. CHATMAN(CHAPMAN) was born in Heard County circa 1861. My father Andrew J CHATMAN was also born in Heard County circa1893. Can find no records for any of them . All familes moved to Doerun, GA circa 1909. would appraciate any info.

Searching for the family of Paschal Harrison TAYLOR. He was born about 1806 in GA and married Jane (Mary Jane?) in the 1830's. He is in the Heard Co 1840 census. The family moved to Randolph County, AL about 1843. Looking for his parents, marriage record.

On the 1860 Heard Co. Georgia Census (pg. 118 lot 789-774) there was a Reuben JACKSON age 40 (a blacksmith) wife: Elizabeth Children: James 17, John 15, Barttey 13, Mary 11,Martha 9, Joseph 7, Ruphus 6, Elizabeth 4-(my great grandmother),Camilla 2, Reuben 3 months. Child Elizabeth is my great grandmother. She married Reuben Purcell on Feb. 3rd, 1874 in Cherokee Co. Ga. She is buried in N. Fulton County at Boiling Springs Cem. I need information on her father and mother. If the parents had family in this area? Anything. Where Reuben and Elizabeth JACKSON are buried. Thank you
