HENRY McCOY.


   HENRY McCOY, one of Douglas county's Republican representatives, was born at Monmouth, Ill., December 14, 1858, and came from. there to Nebraska in the year 1887. He is married and has one boy and one girl. Mr. McCoy is a clerk in the Union Pacific Ry. headquarters in Omaha, and has for a number of years been prominently identified with the fraternal insurance orders of that city.

GEORGE ALFRED MEAD.


   GEORGE ALFRED MEAD, of Omaha, is one of Douglas county's solid seven Republicans in the lower branch of the Legislature. He was born in Manchaster county, New York state, and came to Nebraska from the state of Iowa; is a widower and has one son and one daughter. Mr. Mead is now engaged in Alaska mining, and was formerly connected with the American Beet Sugar Company and with the American Chicory Company.

J. E. MENDENHALL.


   J. E. MENDENHALL, Jefferson county's member of the lower house, represents the thirty-fourth district, is a Republican, and was born in Richmond, Wayne county, Indiana, October 15, 1856. He came to Nebraska in the year 1895; is married and has two boys; was sheriff of Jefferson county for four years, from 1893 to 1897. Mr. Mendenhall is a farmer and stockman and present address is Fairbury, Jefferson county.

EDWARD W. MISKELL.


   EDWARD W. MISKELL, is the Republican member of the lower house from Saline county, the thirty-first district; he was born at Columbus, Ohio, in 1863, and located in Nebraska where the town of Hubbell now is, in the year 1870. Mr. Miskell lives at Wilber, where he is engaged in the merchandise business, being also extensively interested in farm lands. He has a wife and two daughters; was left an orphan at the age of thirteen and educated himself at Baker University in Kansas. His district is very close, and the large majority by which he was elected is certainly very complimentary.

JOHN H. MOCKETT, JR.


   JOHN H. MOCKETT, JR., from Lancaster county, is a Republican member of the house of representatives. He was born December 18, 1860, in the state of Wisconsin, coming from that state to Nebraska with his parents in a "prairie schooner" in the year 1872. He was married, February 8, 1888, to Hattie H. Jones, of Omaha. They have three daughters and one son. Mr. Mockett is a member of the firm of J. H. Mockett & Sons, general agents of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. He was member of the Lincoln city council from 1887 to January 1, 1901, resigning at the time. Was president of the city council from April, 1900, to date of resignation.

P. M. MULLEN.


   P. M. MULLEN is a Republican representative from Douglas county and was born in Woodford county, Galloway, Ireland, coming from there to America in the month of May, 1871. He was married to Miss B. Donnelly in the year 1875, and they have a family consisting of three boys and three girls. Mr. Mullen resides in Omaha, where he is engaged in the mercantile business. He was elected a member of the Nebraska Legislature in the year 1881, and now twenty years later is serving a second term. He has been treasurer of the Douglas County Republican central committee, and is an active worker in the party.
